DIVISION DIRECTOR STEEL & TRADING
METALIMEX is looking for a leader who will take responsibility for the strategy, performance, and development of the Steel & Trading Division!
This role sits at the very core of industrial trade—where volumes, margins, logistics, timing, and trust intersect. You will manage a business that has a direct impact on key industrial sectors in the Czech Republic and across Europe.
This is not about portfolio management. It is about actively steering and developing a commercial ecosystem.
What you will do:
- Lead the strategy of the Steel & Trading Division – product portfolio, market focus, commercial priorities, and long-term sustainable growth.
- Take full responsibility for business results, including volumes, margins, contract structure, risks, and overall profitability.
- Develop key business relationships and lead direct negotiations with major customers and strategic suppliers in the Czech Republic, but primarily abroad.
- Lead the sales team – setting goals, standards, and a high commercial culture.
- Manage market and pricing strategy, working with LME commodity price developments, material availability, and market cycles.
- Collaborate across METALIMEX functions—logistics, finance, risk management, and company leadership—you will participate in strategic decision-making and its execution.

- A commercial leader with experience in steel, metallurgical, or industrial B2B sectors.
- A personality who understands high-volume trade, margins, and long-term contracts.
- A manager with strong strategic thinking and the ability to take ownership.
- A partner for key customers who can negotiate firmly but fairly.
- Someone who combines commercial instinct, data-driven thinking, and decisiveness.
What you should have:
- Proven experience leading a sales team in a high-volume B2B business.
- Strong negotiation skills and a feel for market timing.
- Knowledge of LME trading and pricing mechanisms.
- Ability to lead a team, set direction, and deliver results.
- Fluent English (German is a significant advantage).
- Courage to make decisions in an environment where no simple answers exist.
