COO MTX RENEWABLES
MTX Renewables a.s. is the energy subholding of MTX Group and plays a central role in the Group’s transformation towards modern energy solutions and sustainable industry. We focus on the development and implementation of renewable energy projects – from photovoltaic and wind power plants through battery energy storage systems to innovative solutions utilizing secondary raw materials and waste. Our objective is not only energy generation, but above all the creation of a long-term sustainable energy backbone for the industrial companies within MTX Group. We combine investment, technology, and industrial expertise to strengthen the Group’s energy self-sufficiency, efficiency, and competitiveness.
MTX Renewables is the energy platform of MTX Group, connecting industry, energy, and emerging technologies.
By 2030, we will invest nearly CZK 7.5 billion in renewable energy, decarbonization, and the circular economy. At the same time, we are developing international projects (e.g. a hybrid renewable energy park in Spain exceeding €1 billion in investment value and 1.1 GW of installed capacity).
We are seeking a COO who will take responsibility for the execution of this strategy.
What You Will Be Responsible For:
- Managing a comprehensive portfolio of energy projects.
- Photovoltaic, wind, and battery energy storage projects.
- Energy solutions for industrial facilities.
- Waste-to-energy and hydrogen technologies.
- Responsibility for projects ranging from hundreds of millions to billions of CZK, including international projects.
- Designing and managing the project and operational model across the entire lifecycle (development → construction → operation).
- Leading project teams and managing external partners (EPC contractors, technology providers, financial institutions).
- Working closely with the CFO and MTX Group leadership on the implementation of the investment programme (~CZK 7.5 billion).
- Ensuring project schedules, budgets, and return-on-investment targets are achieved.
- Overseeing compliance, regulatory requirements, and ESG standards.
What We Expect From You:
- Proven experience managing large-scale investment projects (energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors).
- Experience in a senior leadership role (COO / Director / Head of Projects / Head of Investments).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across different stages of development and execution.
- Strong financial and project management mindset (CAPEX, ROI, risk management).
- Experience in the construction and/or operation of energy assets is an advantage.
- Native-level Czech and highly advanced English language skills.
- Willingness to divide time between Prague, regional locations, and international destinations.
